1959 Santo and Johnny wrote, recorded and released "Sleep
Walk". "Sleep Walk" was the last number 1 instrumental
of the 50's and earned them a Gold Record. They appeared on all
many television shows including; The Alan Freed Show, Dick Clark's
American Bandstand, The Merv Griffin Show and The Perry Como Show,
just to name a few. From 1962 to 1973 Santo and Johnny were signed
with an Italian record label under which they recorded over 40
albums worldwide. During this time period they have appeared on
numerous television shows and have performed in clubs and casinos
all over Europe. "And I Love Her" hit #1 in Mexico in
1965 and remained there for 21 weeks, bestowing them with the
Golden Kangaroo Award. In 1973 Johnny & Santo recorded "The
Godfather" which also reached #1 in Italy and held on for
26 weeks. Johnny & Santo received a second Gold Record for
this and were inducted into the Hall of Fame in Italy. Johnny
has kept the magical steel guitar sound alive performing as a
solo artist all over the country since 1973. In 1998, Johnny received
an "Award of Achievement" at the Long Island Music Awards.
"Sleepwalk" is played over one hundred thousand times
a year in the United States alone and is equally popular in Europe.
In 1999 it earned BMI's "2 Millionaires Award" which
symbolized 2 million air plays. This amazing hit song has been
featured in over 15 movies, 10 television shows and several television
commercials. In 1999 "Sleepwalk" won a Grammy Award
for Best Instrumental of the Year. You won't want to miss this
